FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:
On September 6th at 10:00 am and September 7th at 3:00 PM, The Guild Theatreworks will hold auditions for CHEAPER BY THE DOZEN based on the autobiographical novel about the Gilbreth family in turn of the century New Jersey, adapted by Christopher Sergel. Auditions will take place at The Cultural Arts Center on Herbertsville Road in Brick for a production in November. Children from ages 8 to 18 are needed as well as adults, 9 men and 7 women in total. Scenes will be provided at the auditions. Call 732-840-3515 for more information.
The story follows an attractive high school girl who is a member of a
large and unique family in Montclair, New Jersey, at the turn of the
20th century. Her father is one of the great pioneers of industrial
efficiency who is cleverly applying his unorthodox methods with his
family. The results can be terribly embarrassing, funny and it must
be admitted - extremely effective! However, the teenagers in the
family have their own ideas about school, friends, and romance. This charming "coming of age" saga has been up-dated recently in films starring the funny man Steve Martin - but the original has even more humor and heart!
